Another thought about cool

Maybe I’ve tweeted this or something before, I don’t know.

But I also think it’s worth noting that cool is exactly the opposite of what it advertises. Cool is the the mask of not caring what society thinks of you, when in truth, most perceptibly cool people care deeply what society thinks of them.

So then maybe, the best action is to really genuinely not care what society thinks of you. Even if it means you’re a 30-year-old man in middle-American wearing dad jeans.

Our levels of consumption are a massive strain on the environment and really a distortion of genuine human need. I believe it’s way more corrosive than we’ve acknowledged at this point.
